Our solidarity towards the commitments for total sanitation
We are proud of having toilets in our homes
Importance of IYS in Nepal
In Nepal, only 46% of the population has access to latrines against water supply coverage of 76%. The gap thus between sanitation and water supply facilities is over 30%. About one third of the 75 districts have sanitation coverage less than 20%; 10 districts in the Tarai and 14 in hills and mountains. The coverage among the rich people is 80% whereas it is just 12% among the poor.

Our Vision
Nepal envisions the IYS-2008 as a great opportunity to bring a revolution towards gearing up hygiene and sanitation momentum in line with the spirit of NG and MDG through stakeholders' collaborative efforts, innovative working modalities and technologies.
