Key Result Areas
The following are the expected Key Result Areas of IYS-2008, Nepal:
- Enabled environment for hygiene and sanitation promotion by developing Master Plan, Urban Sanitation Policy and enforcing National Guidelines for Implementation of Hygiene and Sanitation Program. Annual and multi year plan will be prepared to step ahead MDG and achieve NG by 2017;
- Secured resources at all levels (community/ school/VDC, district, region and central levels). The government, donors, local bodies, NGOs and private sectors will commit and allocate the budgets required as per the Master Plan. Capacity of human resource will be enhance at different levels;
- Enhanced coordination, cooperation and communication at all levels to jointly share innovative and creative learning and experiences, participate in planning, implementation and monitoring, harmonizing strategy, approaches and modalities;
- Increased advocacy and awareness on hygiene and sanitation promotion particularly latrine, open defecation free communities/ school catchments/VDC/municipalities and hand washing promotion through media campaign at all levels, Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials development and dissemination and mobilization of stakeholders including prominent personalities at all levels.
