The first Sarsafai Mahotsab (sanitation festival) was celebrated
The first Sarsafai Mahotsab (sanitation festival) was celebrated at Bandipur in Tanahun district from 11-13 January 2008 to mark the IYS-2008. Deputy Speaker of the House of the Representatives, UNICEF Country Representatives to Nepal, high level government officials, journalists and district level stakeholders participated in the event. Bandipur VDC (2327 households) was declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) zone on the occasion.
