Development of Documentary on Ecological Sanitation
Since its first introduction of eco-san in Nepal by DWSS and WHO in 2002/3, eco-san is getting popularity as an effective sanitation approach and technology. In addition to some piloting initiatives, it is being marketed through SLTS program activities as well. In response to overwhelming demand of eco-san as well as the concept recognized by Nepal Country Plan for the IYS-2008, WHO, IYS-2008 Nepal Desk and ESS supported for the production documentary on eco-san by incorporating the information on its conceptual, methodological, management, technological and utility aspect. The documentary is developed in three languages-- Nepali, English and Maithali-- with a view to cover the wider audiences. It could be believed that this documentary will help promote sanitation in the country by marketing its multiple values in potential areas.
